Femme Fatale
Of all the lamps I've made so far, this was the one I most could not WAIT to get started on. And it came out exactly as I had envisioned with very little interference from Murphy and his blasted law. Naturally, I busted off the last bead strand as I was tying off but otherwise, smooth sailing. Waiting weeks for the fringes and one of the trims to arrive was the only challenge. I used 3 sizes of red Precosia Crystals within the six inch fringe and was super happy with the design. Beaded fringes take time, to be sure, but they are just so beautiful when the light shines through. Friends I've shown the lamp to have unanimously commented, "Sexy" and I agree. Lamp stand is whopping SIX FEET TALL and shade is 20 inches across. The stand is solid wood, which I sanded to bare before colour-staining in black and then adding several layers and streaks of varying colours to create the effect I was seeking. Hard to explain, but it took 5 full days to get there. $1100
