Sweet Chic
I had such fun creating this lamp! After wrapping the spine, I covered it in gold satin. Selecting the two main fabrics was easy; finding the alternate seemed impossible as I tried every piece of fabric or lace I could imagine, even dying a few of them, but nothing worked. After giving up and putting the lamp aside, I happened upon a gold lace box a friend had given me in one of my desk drawers. So I cut the sucker up - perfect! I'm all about detail and this lamp was not spared. It's covered in gorgeous trims, with aqua blue rhinestones following select lines and hand-beaded fringe strands picking up the fabric colours. I used amber Precosia crystals to add sparkle! This antique lamp base is highlighted with nickel and copper sections while the black steel post features a beatiful intricate design when you look closely (all original, meaning I did not rebuild or paint this lamp base). Stands 22" tall. $440
